Pressure Washing Charlotte Area Decks And Fences

The thought of cleaning a deck or fence can be a daunting task for homeowners.  Hiring a professional pressure washing company with knowledge of wood care is a vital part of deck maintenance.  Do it yourself homeowners and pressure washing industry hacks cause thousands of dollars in unnecessary wood damage every year.

Using too much water pressure on a deck, fence, or other wood structure causes irreparable damage.  There is an inclination to use heavy pressure on decks as the dirt is literally blown off the deck, resulting in a clean surface.  The problem is that soft, cellulose fibers in the wood are also blown out of the wood.  Unfortunately, after using excessive pressure on a deck it often looks clean, instilling a false sense of pride in the operator.  Problems arise soon thereafter as the deck develops grooves and cracks where the soft fibers used to be.  This causes premature aging of the wood, often reducing the lifespan of the deck by half!

Improper use of cleansers causes the same issues as excessive pressure.  Too much bleach and detergent when pressure washing will dry the wood causing it to splinter and crack.  A qualified professional can make a grey, weathered deck look practically brand new using the correct cleansers and techniques so the project is performed safely.  Proper technique, water pressure, and cleansers will prolong the life of your deck and make it look fantastic in the process.

Pressure Washing Charlotte In A Bad Real Estate Climate

Many people have been having a hard time financially because they are unable to sell their homes and real estate investments.  Many real estate gurus are telling homeowners to hold on to their property and wait until the market comes back.  This is shrewd advice, but many folks are being held back from realizing their American dream because they are unable to upgrade their home and are forced to stay in their current residence.

While this news is unsettling, there are some simple remedies that can make a situation like this more tolerable.  Keeping your home maintained during this time is vital.  An inexpensive way to maintain your home, deck and driveway is to have it professionally pressure washed.  This kind of ongoing maintenance will keep your investments fresh and clean so when the time comes for the market to bounce back, your home will be in “ready to sell” condition.  You may even find that once your place is clean, you’ll want to stay where you are!

Pressure washing the exterior of your home, deck, and driveway can make a drastic difference to the look of the outside of your home.  If selling isn’t an option, maintenance is the way to go!

Pressure Washing Through Time And Attitude: Separating The Pros From The Hacks.

Sometimes, it’s a learned behavior for small business owners.  Sometimes, they’re simply desperate for success or jealous of the success of their competition.  Really, I think it’s simply the inherent nature of some people.  There is a palatable “air” about some small business owners and it seems to be more prevalent in trade industries such as pressure washing.  I am referring to a particular attitude that some owners adopt where their mindset is focused so heavily on the destruction of the competition that they lose sight of what their own strengths and weaknesses are.  Unfortunately, this negative attitude can permeate every aspect of their business leading to a decrease in volume, profit, and general happiness.  Of course, this problem leads to having much more time on their hands, which results in more time to be destructive to their competition.  It’s a sad cycle that inevitably damages the industry of which they are a part.

In my experience as the owner of a pressure washing company, I have chosen to embrace those that I consider my competition.  I learn from them, I take from them, and I share with them.  Who is better qualified to understand what goes on in my life than a fellow pressure washing company owner from the same geographical region?  I have borrowed equipment, shared jobs, referred those that specialize in areas we don’t, and have gained invaluable knowledge.  This kind of symbiotic relationship spurs growth within the pressure washing industry, ultimately resulting in more profit for everyone.  It’s why my company belongs to professional organizations like the PWNC and HBN and supports other pressure washing companies that give something positive back to their peers.

Alternatively, there are those that just don’t get it.  They waste their time on smear campaigns, bad mouthing, or simply sabotaging the true professionals in their area.  They obviously underestimate the knowledge of their customer base as today’s consumers are very intelligent and can thankfully see the clouds through the trees.  This has never been more evident than in our growing base of customers that have migrated to our company from rivals that spend more time bashing and less time washing.  The most important thing for successful, professional companies to do is to simply ignore the hacks.  They’re a dime a dozen because it’s easy to trash other companies.  It’s easy to judge others without knowing who they are.  It’s easy to be negative.  This pattern of doing what’s easy usually translates into the quality of their work as cutting corners becomes their corporate culture, thereby defining them as the hacks they are.

Time is a commodity in the pressure washing business.  There are only so many hours in a day…spend them building your own business, not trying to tear down others.  Those that “get it” reap the benefits of a healthy, successful, profitable business that is fun to be a part of.  Those that don’t get it are destined to be frustrated, bitter, and unsuccessful.  I don’t find myself angry with those that don’t get it.  I have pity for them as they don’t know what they’re missing.  I’m sure people like this can be found in every industry, but in my industry it’s all about knowing when to reduce pressure, how to handle pressure, and where to apply pressure.  And only a successful professional with a great attitude and no time for the hacks knows how to do that.

Pressure Washing Charlotte Area Store fronts and Multi Unit Properties

You truly get only one chance to make a first impression.  Potential customers decide within seconds whether or not they will frequent an establishment based solely on the physical appearance of the business.  Overflowing dumpsters, gum and grime on sidewalks, and filthy awnings are responsible for literally pulling cash out of the pockets of business owners and property managers alike.

We all know that bad news travels fast.  A potential customer that is repulsed by the condition of a local restaurant, beauty salon, or other local business is very likely to spread that news to friends, families, and coworkers.  It is an unfortunate fact about the human condition.  The best way to combat this kind of cruel gossip is to ensure that an establishment is regularly maintained.  Keeping mold off sidewalks and storefronts, cleaning up gum in high traffic areas, and reducing the everyday grime that naturally collects on awnings, windows, and columns is a great way to attract potential customers and keep loyal customers coming back.

The same thought process applies to multi unit dwellings.  Townhome residents are much happier when their HOA fees are being used to maintain the outside of their homes.  Potential residents are also attracted to properties that have sparkling white gutters and no mold on the siding.  The most attractive properties have property management companies that see the benefit in having a professional pressure washing company clean the exterior of their investments on a regular basis.  Like owning an automobile or private home, the small cost of regular maintenance eliminates very costly and unnecessary repair in the long run.

Aside from the aesthetics of a clean business environment, business owners and property managers can avoid costly lawsuits and potential injuries to their clientele.  A sidewalk covered in gum and mildew becomes very slippery when it rains and is a potential hazard for patrons walking on it.  Savvy owners know to avoid this pitfall with regular and proper maintenance.

The best property managers and business owners know the value of a regular pressure washing schedule.  It’s never too late to begin a program as in most cases a heavy initial cleaning will result in a new looking, attractive structure.  Keeping it maintained will separate them from the competition.

Pressure Washing Charlotte Concrete

Many Charlotte area homeowners that are concerned about the maintenance of their home often overlook their concrete driveways, sidewalks, and patios.  These areas are prone to collecting mold, mud, oil stains, tire marks and leaf stains.  The reason they are often overlooked is because their transformation from clean to dirty is often very slow, accumulating over the course of several neglected years.  The good news is that having the concrete pressure washed properly provides instant satisfaction for the homeowner.

A qualified professional pressure company will utilize the proper cleansers with the correct amount of water pressure and equipment to transform streaked, stained concrete into a clean sheet you can be proud of.  Homeowners should be careful to hire a licensed, insured pressure washing company that can perform this service properly.  Improper pressure washing can result in removing the top layer of protective coating, commonly called the “cream” of the concrete.  Using the wrong cleansers can burn the concrete and kill grass and landscaping.

Having clean concrete at your home is a fast, inexpensive way to give it instant curb appeal.  Maintaining the concrete will reduce the hazards of slippery mold or hazardous oil stains.  Give your home an instant facelift!
